Help us
Help us
Help us to fight this disease which claims more lives than any other childhood disease!
We rely on the generosity and hard work of the public and business sponsors to continue our work, but we are always looking for more and there are many ways in which you can help:
Sponsored events
Perhaps you would like to organise or take part in a sponsored event. We can provide sponsorship forms, posters and information about The Samantha Jones Trust. So if you are interested don't hesitate to contact us.
Fund raising
Maybe you would like to support the fund-raising events we organise ourselves. If you would like to volunteer as a helper at any of our events, or if you have any fund-raising suggestions, we would love to hear from you.
There are also ways in which you can help without it costing you a penny!
- Many companies nominate a charity each year to which they make donations- perhaps you could mention The Samantha Jones Trust, and we can send supporting literature;
- Alternatively, your local pub, club or sports association may be looking for a charity to support - just tell us if you require some literature;
- Donate the proceeds from the sale of unwanted goods;
- Maybe you could ask for donations in lieu of presents;
- Collections;
- Collection boxes;
- Raffles.
Gift Aid:
If you pay tax, ‘Gift Aid' is a scheme by which you can donate a sum of money to The Samantha Jones Trust and we can reclaim basic rate tax on your gift from the Inland Revenue to increase the value of your gift. For example, if you gave us £10 using ‘Gift Aid' the gift is worth £12.82 to 'The Samantha Jones Trust'.
You can make payments by cash, cheque, postal order, direct debit or standing order. Subject to a few rules, you can give any amount, large or small, regular or one-off, and we can reclaim the tax.
You must
- pay at least as much tax as we will reclaim on your gifts in the tax year in which you make them (tax credits on dividend income will count towards the tax paid). The tax year runs from 6 April in one year to 5 April in the next.
- make a declaration to us that you want your gift to be treated as a ‘Gift Aid' donation
- not receive excessive benefits in return for your gift.

Payroll Giving
Payroll Giving was established in 1986 to enable individuals to donate money directly to charity hassle free, whilst providing charities with a regular source of income to be relied upon in the way that one off donations cannot - month in month out.
22 million people paid through PAYE and are able to use this scheme. The potential for donations is huge. But up until now the opportunity has not been taken to the full.
